Total Football Manager is a Football Manager game where you basically act as the manager of a football team and have to do everything associated with managing a team such as managing the training schedules of the players, buying in new players during transfer windows and keeping your players in top shape at all times so that they can perform well in tournaments.
The game plays out exactly as you’d expect from a manager game of this sort. You basically start off on your own and have to build a team from the ground up and then it’s your job to manage your team in the best way possible so that they’re able to do well in all their matches and such.
One rather surprising thing about Total Football Manager is that it lets you sign three star players from the get-go. Normally in a game you’ll notice that at the start you’re only able to acquire the B or C tier players for your teams but in Total Football Manager you get to start off with at least three star players on your roster. While this might be good it also comes with a drawback of its own.
After you’ve selected your three star players for your strike, mid-field and defense, the remaining players of your team are selected randomly and you don’t get to have a say in that.
Once you have a team you’re able to customize the basics like the team emblem and the team jersey etc. and then you’re finally set into the world of football management. The things you’ll have to do will include stuff like training regimes, setting up matches for your team, setting up a training field and customizing it, providing better facilities for your team and all that jazz.
The game constantly features tournaments to play in where you get to test how far your team has come. Playing in these tournaments is recommended as you’re able to get a good sum of money if you manage to pull out some wins in the tournament and this extra money goes a long way in improving your team overall.
The game also features the option of buying in-game cash by paying for it with real world money but that’s about it. There aren’t any premium items to choose from and the only thing you’ll be able to get with real money is the in-game currency.
All said and done, Total Football Manager is a great manager game that executes all the core concepts perfectly to make for an enjoyable game.
