Defeat the Dark Lord and his legion of devils in this exciting game
Play as a cool half-devil hero and the last vanguard of Nala, and advance, upgrade and improve your character to make him or her stronger. Take on the Dark Lord, his summoner, Malek, and the legions of devils in this amazing dungeon-crawler/ MMORPG, Devilian!
To start playing, you’ll need to create a character first. Devilian offers up to 4 different characters, namely the Evoker, Berserker, Shadowhunter and Cannoneer. Each class has its own set of abilities and skills as well as their own unique Devilian form. This form allows you to have access to a new set of skills that are a whole lot more powerful than your character’s usual skills. The Devilian form can only be activated using the “V” key once you’ve filled the Devilian meter though.
Although the characters are pretty much gender-locked, you are given a nice range of customization to change your character’s look to your liking. Of course, if you find out that you have made a mistake with the character class, you can simply create another character for free. However, if you want to create more characters, you’ll need to spend some real money to buy more character slots (up to 6).
Furthermore, the controls in Devilian may take a bit to get used to as it is a tad bit unconventional. Instead of clicking to target your enemy, you’ll be aiming where your character uses his or her skills by using your mouse cursor. Due to this, you will not be able to use your mouse to click on the skills you want to use. As an alternative, you’ll need to use the number keys. Movement is pretty simple though as you can choose to use WASD or the left mouse button to do so.
The gameplay in Devilian is pretty much similar to most MMORPGs out there. This means you’ll be questing (with the aid of the “autorun” feature), running various dungeons either alone or in a party, and fighting other players in exciting arena matches that can be small (3-vs-3) or huge (20-vs-20). There are some interesting events that spice things up in the game, such as the random boss event, as well.
If you aim to be the best Devilian there is, there are plenty of ways you can achieve that in this game. There are skill trees and proficiency stat bonuses that you can invest your skill and proficiency points respectively in. There are also talismans that you can obtain by opening talisman boxes crafted from magic dusts, which in turn are obtained by salvaging unwanted gear with an item quality of uncommon or above. These talismans can be equipped to give your character some much needed bonus attributes. You can also upgrade your gear by enchanting it, identifying additional attributes hidden in it, or adding refining stones to it to change its attributes into more favorable ones.
In addition to talismans, there are also plenty of other things that you can collect and use, such as the many adorable mounts and pets. Although pets in the game are non-combative, they do give you bonus stats or even help you heal up when you’re severely injured. Don’t forget to attempt to snag as many achievements as you can, along with any titles that you can get your hands on.
Despite being in closed beta, Devilian shows plenty of promise as being the next big thing in the dungeon-crawler/ MMORPG niche. The game itself offers plenty of entertainment, whether it is in terms of PvE or even PvP, and is definitely worth splurging your time into.
So, if you’re interested in the game, be sure to stay tuned to MMOSquare! We’ll let you know when the game enters into the open beta phase so you can be among the first of your friends to give the game a try.
